In Pielenhofen the Jurasteig crosses over to the other side of the Naab, immediately leaving the village and heading towards a beech forest above the settlement. North of Pielenhofen, a picturesque forest trail leads through the rocky pine and beech forests of the nature preserve "Naabrangen". After a short but steep ascent above Kleinduggendorf, the hiker is rewarded with a beautiful view of Duggendorf. Until Heitzenhofen, the Jurasteig now leads through diversified mixed forests, where the rare fraxinella or dittany is in bloom in early summer.

On the other side of the river, the trail peacefully leads through open landscape formed by meadows and hedges full of butterflies. Through a mixed forest, you reach a high plane with the village of Dallackenried. From there you have a gorgeous view of the woody Jura landscape, until the route first leads across fields, and then down the woody slopes to the entrance of the picturesque Kallmünz.
